S/Sgts Tischendorf and Chibnik, 1st Lts. Zeidler, Perdue, Maj. McCarten, and Capt. Southworth, who had just returned to squadron after being forced down in Burma on their return from a mission on 12 August 1943. Somewhere in the CBI.
"Pipeline Engineers: Construction of the 7000 ft. submerged gasoline pipeline system that extended from the beach out into the Bay of Bengal. High octane gasoline was received here and pumped to the various airfields in Eastern India and North Burma."
